Thank you for bringing up the apparent issue.
On second thoughts, some of the precipitation areas in the particular files do look like simulation artefacts.
I was using a trial cumulus scheme on those dates which may be the cause and have reverted back to the "regular" scheme and will keep an open eye on precipitation patterns.
